Molasses is a viscous by-product of the processing of cane sugar or sugar beets into sugar. The word Molasses comes from the Portuguese word melaco, which ultimately comes from Mel, the Latin word for “Honey”. Molasses Sugar is well known as a natural and nutritious sweetener made from natural sugar cane juice. Molasses Sugar is high in soluble solids, dextrin, peptic substances and colloidal components.
